Villa Bonda – a Malay traditional wooden villa in Masjid Tanah, Melaka. A booking-focused website with a 360° virtual tour, ten room pages, facility tiles that open a details panel, a live availability calendar and WhatsApp enquiry.

Villa Bonda is a traditional Malay wooden villa in Masjid Tanah, Melaka, rented as a whole property for family gatherings, company retreats and group stays. I built its website around the decisions a group organiser needs to make before messaging the owner. Guests can explore the rooms, check the facilities, take a virtual tour and look at available dates in the same visit.

The brief

The existing website already held useful descriptions and photographs, but the main booking questions were spread across its pages. How many people can stay? Which beds are in each room? What can the group use during the visit? I rebuilt the site as a custom WordPress theme and kept the owner’s existing content. Villa Bonda needed a clearer way to present that information, with an enquiry route close to the details guests were reading.

What I built

• A photo-led first screen – A full-screen slideshow introduces the property alongside its bedroom, facility and guest-capacity information. The opening section gives a group organiser a quick sense of the villa before they start checking individual rooms.
• A full-screen virtual tour – The 360-degree tour opens from the page and lets visitors explore the property themselves. It adds spatial context to the photographs, especially for someone trying to picture a gathering before arranging a visit.
• Ten room pages – The rooms have flower names and their own bedding, capacity, air-conditioning and gallery details. Previous and next controls in the room carousel support browsing, and a downloadable bedding guide gives organisers another reference.
• Facility detail panels – Tiles cover the pool and jacuzzi, karaoke, dining hall, bar kitchen, prayer room and laundry. Opening a tile reveals what is provided without sending the visitor away from the page they were reading.
• An availability calendar – The embedded calendar distinguishes available, pending and unavailable dates. Guests can check the period they have in mind before starting a conversation with the owner about their group and proposed stay.
• Answers and guest reviews – The FAQ covers questions such as cancellation, signal and group size. A Google reviews section sits alongside the property information, so visitors can read guest feedback as part of their own assessment.
• Direct WhatsApp enquiries – Book Now and the room enquiry buttons lead to WhatsApp. The website provides the information for comparison, while the conversation with the owner remains the next step for someone who wants to book.
• Content the owner can manage – Rooms, facilities and FAQs have their own content types in WordPress. The tour and calendar are configurable in settings. I used a custom theme without a page builder, with JavaScript for the menu and carousel.

How the Villa Bonda website works

A visitor to Villa Bonda can start with the property photographs and then choose the detail that matters most to their group. Someone arranging sleeping spaces can browse the room pages and bedding guide. Someone planning shared activities can open facility panels or use the virtual tour to look around. Those routes support different questions without forcing everyone through a long booking form.

Once the group has a clearer picture of the stay, the calendar helps them check proposed dates. The FAQ answers practical questions before they contact the owner. Villa Bonda keeps WhatsApp accessible from the main booking and room buttons, so the move from research to enquiry stays direct. The owner can update the underlying room and facility records without rebuilding the surrounding page layout.

Result

Villa Bonda has an English-language rental website that presents the property in warm wood tones with serif headings and a calm layout. Guests can inspect rooms, explore shared spaces and check dates before making an enquiry. For the owner, the site brings existing information into a manageable WordPress structure rather than requiring each detail to be edited as part of a page design.
