Institutional Investors Council Malaysia

Institutional Investors Council Malaysia (IICM) – the body representing institutional investors in Malaysia’s capital market. A WordPress site with news and events, membership and publications, plus custom plugins for membership applications and conference pages.

The brief

IICM Berhad, formed in 2015, represents the common interests of 32 institutional investors and promotes stronger corporate governance across Malaysia’s capital market. It publishes stewardship codes and reports, holds working committees, dialogues and company engagements, and runs an annual conference. The website had to look credible to regulators and fund managers while staying easy for a small secretariat to update.

What we built

• About and governance – who we are, history and milestones, board and council, working committees and the Sustainability Working Group.
• Membership – why join, list of members, membership types, fees and the application route.
• News and events – press releases, conferences, workshops, company engagements, Institutional Spotlight and a photo gallery, with date, time and venue shown on every entry.
• Publications – the Malaysian Code for Institutional Investors (2014 and 2022) and stewardship reports, linked from the homepage.
• Custom membership application plugin – an online application form with an admin dashboard, email notification and Excel export, built to sit alongside the downloadable PDF form.
• Custom conference plugin – one shortcode renders the full Corporate Governance Conference 2026 landing page (hero, overview, audience, programme timeline, pricing), with speakers and sessions editable from the WordPress admin.

How it was built

WordPress with Elementor. The two plugins were written to WordPress standards, with conference styles scoped so they cannot affect the rest of the theme and assets loaded only on pages that use them.

Result

A governance-grade website that presents the council, its members and its publications clearly, with membership applications and the annual conference handled by tools the secretariat can run themselves.
